Automatic watches can run slightly differently depending on how they rest, as gravity affects the movement in different positions. Storing the watch face down (dial down) can help fine-tune minor time deviations, while face up (dial up) or on its side can reduce the risk of dial or hand contact and limit dust settling on the crystal. Alternating resting positions helps to balance out small positional timing variations. If you wear your watch daily or rotate it frequently, the resting position is generally less important since it is regularly wound through normal use.

For safe storage, keep your watch in a clean, dry place – ideally in a watch box with a soft lining or on a padded cushion – to protect it from scratches and impacts. Avoid exposure to magnetic fields, such as those from electronics or speakers, as magnetism can affect accuracy. High humidity should also be avoided to help preserve seals and overall performance.
